UX/UI
Design
Stockguard, a company specializing in livestock risk management, developed a web-based app to streamline the insurance purchasing process. Traditionally, securing livestock insurance required multiple back-and-forth emails with an agent to obtain quotes. Stockguard's app eliminates this friction by providing real-time quotes and allowing users to place insurance orders directly through the portal. While functional, the existing app was minimalistic and bare-bones, lacking an intuitive user experience and a refined interface.
Recognizing the potential for improvement, I took the initiative to independently redesign the app, focusing on usability, modern aesthetics, and a more intuitive user experience. This project showcases my ability to analyze an existing product, identify pain points, and propose a well-structured, visually compelling redesign. My portfolio includes before-and-after visuals, clearly illustrating the transformation.
As the sole UX/UI designer on this project, I was responsible for:
The existing web app provided basic functionality but lacked:
I redesigned the app with a user-centered approach, focusing on:
🎯 Improved Navigation – Streamlined the user flow for easier task completion.
🎨 Refined UI Design – Introduced a cohesive color palette, typography, and UI elements for better usability.
🚀 Enhanced Functionality – Added interactive elements and intuitive design patterns.
1️. Research & Analysis – Studied competitor apps and current users.
2️. Wireframes – Created low-fidelity wireframes, then refined them into high-fidelity wireframes.
3️. Testing & Iteration – Conducted informal usability reviews with a product team member and iterated based on feedback.
To highlight the impact of this redesign, my portfolio includes:
📸 Comparisons of the original vs. redesigned app.
🔄 Breakdown of key design changes to explain the reasoning behind each improvement.
This project demonstrates my ability to take initiative, solve UX challenges, and apply strategic design thinking to improve an existing product. The next step is to gather additional feedback and refine the design for potential real-world implementation.
